You may have seen on the news back in april 2007 that 4 soldiers had been kiiled in iraq.. 2 girls and 2 boys.. well 1 of the girls was my friend Ella.. I went to secondary school with her and she was full of laughter.. loads of people liked her. no-one knew she was going to go in the army... i gues thats what surprises you about life... The day i found out ella had died i was rather shocked. A friend of mine had texted me saying she had died and i didnt believe her... UNTIL i saw it on the news.. i couldnt believe it.. what a way to die.. she was out there for our country. A coach full of her old friends travelled up country to go to her funeral.. WOW there were hundreds there... lots of other army members all there in their uniforms.. it was such a lovely service.. very sad to because ella died so young.. i remember hearing the last post being played. thats when i started crying.. no-one could quite believe that ella had gone and she wouldnt be coming back, her family were so strong and my heart goes out to them. I hope ella is resting in peace now wherever she is in the spirit world. She will never be forgotten

A Soldier Is A Gift
As we celebrate Christmas, and we open our gifts,
we realize what priceless gifts a soldier gives to our country—
the gifts of patriotism, service, and deep dedication to our nation.
As we feast on a variety of fine Christmas delicacies,
we acknowledge that a soldier personifies a variety of fine qualities:
courage, good character, honor, fortitude amidst hardship,
persistence in subduing evil, and bravery in the face of danger.
A soldier is a cut above the rest of us,
doing jobs we could not or would not do.
While we are surrounded by Christmas comforts,
we remember soldiers in places we would not want to be,
bringing the gift of adaptability to any situation,
no matter how harsh or difficult.
As we "ooh" and "aah" over the Christmas lights and shiny ornaments
we recognize that a soldier gives us the most cherished gift of all,
the shining light of freedom.
At Christmas, let us wrap our hearts and minds
around our treasured soldiers.
May they understand how very much their service means to us.
Let us send the Christmas gifts of love, respect and admiration
to our steadfast, loyal, magnificent warriors
and their essential civilian support staff.
They themselves are the most precious Christmas gift of all,
our protectors—our soldiers.

"Give Me Peace"
Lord, in this hour I need you, more than words could ever tell.
I feel as if I'm stranded on shores between heaven and hell...
I know you haven't left me, yet my heart feels void of hope.
I feel as if I'm hanging on an old and thread worn rope...
I feel as if my hearts been torn from the breast from which it came.
And sunshine will no longer fill my life, only clouds of darkness and rain...
I know this will pass,
and you will be there to give me comfort and strength and hope.
But until then I can't help the feeling that I'm down to that last thread of rope...
If it breaks, you'll be there to catch me, and raise me back to my feet...
But for now my world is in turmoil, and the essence of life is not sweet...
Give me power to overcome my oppression, and let sunshine back on my face.
Let your spirit overwhelm my cold dark heart,
and let me bask in your warmth giving grace...
Give rest to my tempest of yearning, and faith to my sore lacking soul.
Let me again laugh with my family. Rescue me from this pit in Sheol.
With praise I do worship your blessings, with humility, I ask my release.
